Too good to be true......

Well I have contacted my ISP to find out what is going one, speed through the day varies from 25Mbps to 80+Mbps

I have asked if this is normal and was told to perform some tests throughout the day for the next day or so and report back.......

We have WARP SPEED!!!!!

Well over the last few days the internet pixies have been working hard and this is my connection this morning......

New House, new bed...

Well what does it mean for our son when we move, he gets a new bed... His current one is a 2nd hand one so we ordered a new one 2 weeks ago. Put it up today, mattress shopping happened Sunday just gone so his mattress and our new ensemble should be delivered on the weekend

Applied for my Internet

One of the most important parts of the build, applied for my Internet connection to be setup 100/40Mbps plan here I come!!

Opticomm funtimes

Well they were scheduled for the afternoon and can be there anytime from 12-4pm, so I turn up at 11:45am and start to build my new BBQ. Finsih that about 2:30pm and at 3pm when they have not shown up decided I might just check the external enclosure and low and behold they have been to my house at some point (in the morning).

So off to test the TV, only getting 1 channel..... Channel 44, while it is OK only some much community TV you can watch :( Tried to call them, office hours on Saturday is until 1:30pm so no answer on the TV this weekend

At least the day got something done

Oran Park Rebate

Well after finally asking if we could use the Interim Occupation Certificate we put in the application for the design rebate 3 weeks ago and the cash is now in our account burning a hole in our pockets!!

Final Occupational Certificate

Got to the house today and our first mail had arrived, our Final Occupation Certificate. YAY!!!

90day Maintenance Report

Hand delivered to Allworth today, had a defect report prepaired by H&K Ryan. Not a heap of things but worth the peice of mind. Also had a 2 page list of our own issues, now the wait to get them fixed........

Opticomm due, where are you?

Well Opticomm had been schduled to come out today, no show.... no call....

I called them at 4:30pm and told they were still coming and to call back in about an hour if they were not there. No arrival at 6pm so called back, spoke to another person and told they had not done any appointments today due to the rain and OH&S conditions. So hanging out there for no reason and have to rebook :(

Next appointment scheduled for next Saturday the 9th in the afternoon

Had dinner at the house so not a total loss

Ducted AC installed

We had our Ducted AC installed today so now the house can be climate controlled, today was hot and the house was nice a cool very quickly. New Wave AC did a good job, very happy with everything.

They did a 3 phase upgrade to the box a few weeks back and we have a 15Hp unit with 4 zones

Will take some pics of the unit we had installed in the next few days

Wardrobe fitouts complete

Wardrobe fitouts have been completed, happy with the work but now have to wait for the doors to be fabricated. That will take 3-5 weeks so no moving for at least that long... They will also be putting a mirror into the WIR and the cornice for the other rooms at the same time.

Driveway completed

Well after the delays for rain we finally have our driveway completed!!!

Looks good and your last minute change from Bushrock to Ashlar Tile worked out and we love the design.

One issue with it is the concreter went all the way to the footpath with the stencil and SHOULD have stopped 600mm shorter and had a plain section.







I have spoken to council and the developer and they say everything will be fine, will find out in a few weeks I guess :)

 

Opticomm connection - The problem found!!!

Well after a month or so of the equipment on the side of the house yesterday I had someone from the developer come out and confirm that they forgot to run conduit to my house for the fibre required for TV, internet and phone services........

So today they hand dug a trench to the correct pit and put down a conduit, I asked them to leave it open outside my property and I would sort out the connection (they would not actually connect the two pipes)

We had a family dinner at the house while I got to play in the dirt.

Now to call Opticomm about running my fibre!!

We have grass WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!

Well after a few weeks of delays due to rain we FINALLY have grass. We got it from Atlas Turf, Sir Walter $7 per sqm, I decided to be lazy and paid and extra $200 and got them to lay it....

Looks good and can't wait till it takes

Well today our entryway flooring FINALLY is in........ YAY

Looks good and now all 100% for the carpet to be done next week

Yard Secure

Gates and block offs are finished, so happy with them and glad I paid an extra $200 for the black powdercoating!

Now I have to let it weather for a while and oil up the Merbau slats

First feature wall

Well my son is crazy about Orange and has been telling us for months he wants his new room to have an Orange wall......

So off to Masters today and grab a whole heap or orange samples, we worked it to 6 colours we would like. I think it is Toffee Orange

Gates and block off install

Had a call mid way through the day, my fencer Peter (Macarthur Fencing and Glass) is back out and finishing off the block offs so went past to check out the progress

 

Driveway process begins

The process for the driveway has started, even though the pour is at least a week away my concreter (Aaron's Aussie Concrete) is doing the excavation of the site today to save some time as he is also excavating the other job too. He has told me he will come back each afternoon to do little piece's of form work to make sure mine is done ASAP.

He is taking his kids away for a few days from Friday so will hopefully have the other place done by next Thursday and have mine read to pour early the week after
